Summary: Professor Aubrey Manning - 2008: International Year of Planet Earth. The United Nations is marking 2008 as International Year of Planet Earth (IYPE). It is certainly time for us to take stock. For almost 4 billion years Earth and Life have had interwoven histories and recent research by earth scientists and biologists has revealed some wonderful new insights into those interactions.
